Won Ghana and Africa’s first Olympic medal SILVER🥈- boxing Light Welterweight at the Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy in 1960, before Ethiopia’s Bikila Abebe won Gold in the Marathon and Egyptian Flyweight El-Guindi won bronze in boxing too five days later.

He won Gold 🥇at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games held in Perth – Western Australia in 1962 and that also being the first Ghanaian Boxer to win GOLD 🥇 at the Commonwealth games.

He is the elder brother of boxing sensation IKE “BAZOOKA” QUARTEY(former WBA Welterweight Champion), also an Olympian, Seoul 1988.

You duly paid your dues to your motherland Ghana & Africa in the boxing world.
